This field guide specifically documents the aquatic flora of the Lagoon in Rusizi National Park (Delta Sector). It is intended as a resource for researchers as well as stakeholders in ecotourism, including park rangers, managers, and visitors. The book is the result of the RUBICOM project (Biodiversity and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Rusizi Plain), funded by VLIR-UOS. It is a collaborative effort between the University of Antwerp, University of Burundi and CEBioS. The project aims to lay the foundation for knowledge-based, sustainable coexistence between humans and biodiversity in Burundi’s Rusizi River Plain, with a particular focus on aquatic and wetland ecosystems.
