Our research aims to perceive highly alcoholic beverages (inkonesere and agasarabwayi) in Nyakabiga, Bwiza and Buyenzi districts at City Hall of Bujumbura, Burundi. It seeks to understand the motivations and factors that influence the consumption of these drinks as well as the harmful consequences that arise in order to invent adequate strategies to cope with it and prevent consumer’s health. Despite the many consequences of drinking strongly alcoholic beverages, we emphasize strategies for combatting, prevention and awareness, that is to say, launch targeted information campaigns on the dangers of strong alcohol, including young people; then strict regulations by strengthening the laws on sale, advertising and accessibility of alcoholic beverages with high content; and finally support, therefore the development of listening, psychological monitoring and reintegration services for dependent people.
