| dc.description.abstract | This study treats political dictatorship and the influence of media in Chinua Achebe's'Anthills of the Savannah and Tanure Ojaide's Matters of the Moment; by examining causes of the political failure as a result of journalistic activism in these nove1s. of media in Chinua Acbebe's Anthills of the Savannah and Tanure Ojaide's Matters of the Moment is instrumental in the fight against political injustice. The study concludes that the cause of the adverse relationships between the government and agents of the media who are committed to the cause of the marginalised is because the pseudo rulers want to bide some of the ills which the men of media expose. Constructed against the New Historicism the OlY, this Achebe's' Anthills by examining novels. Our work is written based on the by pothesis that the role political some the Oly, this study situates the analysis of the two novels within the power struggles that cbaracterise Nigeria after independence. | |
