| dc.description.abstract | Background: Actually, the diabetic foot is the most problem of public health around the world because of its inva1iding complications. Aim: To identify prevalence and risk factors of diabetic foot in Bujumbura's national reference hospitals. Patients and methods: We conducted a prospective and descriptive from November I th, 2015 to October 31 th 2016 in three Bujwnbura national reference hospitals which are Kamenge teaching hospital, kamenge military hospital and Prince Régent Charles hospital. Was included in the study every patient hospitalized for diabetes with cutaneous diabetic lesion. Results: Among 234 diabetic patients hospitalized in the three hospitals, 27 had cutaneous diabetic lesion that means 11.53% of cases. The main risk factor incriminated in arising of foo1's lesions was inadequate footwear. The stage 3 of foot lesions was the most representativefor patients consulting for diabetic foot lesions. Conclusion: The diabetic foot is frequent in hospitalization and it's factors risk are dominated by inadequate footwear. | |
